A Diverse and Loving Community
Our church is unique. We’re not big, and we don’t meet in a church building. We are a family of local folks who have varying backgrounds. Some of us are retired, others are journeymen, nurses, police officers, or professionals. We have singles, widowers, parents, children and teens.
Some of us have rarely been to church and some of us have been raised in church. Some of us grew jaded and have come back to see what a real church should be like. Some of us have been hurt by people in a church in our past, or by abusers or leaders.
Some of us are still seeking what it means to be a “Christian” or “believer” or to have a real relationship with God.
But one thing unites us – we know that church is supposed to be a place where we learn about and grow closer to God – learning that God didn’t design church to be a list of rules or mean people. Church is a place to worship, learn, and grow in relationships with Him and each other.
Community is a big deal at Hope Filled. It’s who we are. Everyone is committed to making sure that every person from child to teen to adult, feels welcome and included. When we feel like we belong, we are freed to soak in what God has prepared for us each Sunday – in worship, prayer, and a good, Bible-based message for us to think about and even discuss, if you would like. Questions about God, Jesus and heaven are answered here. Questions about what happens after you die are answered here. Questions about why it makes a difference how we live are answered here.
Come join us and experience church the way it is intended.
Our Core Values
We value the Lordship of Jesus Christ!
We acknowledge Jesus Christ as the head of our church and fully submit ourselves to His will. In every aspect of our ministry our goal is always to honor and glorify the Lord Jesus Christ.
We value Bible-centered Preaching and Teaching!
We believe the Bible is God’s inspired authoritative and trustworthy rule of faith and practice for Christians. Therefore, we submit ourselves to its teaching, commit ourselves to do what it says, and yield our lives to become what Christ desires for us to be.
We value Prayer!
We believe in the power of prayer. Therefore, the ministries and activities our church will be characterized by a reliance on personal and corporate prayer in all areas of our lives and ministry.
We value Evangelism and World Missions!
We believe in the Great Commission commanded to us by Jesus Christ and we are committed to reaching unsaved and unchurched people locally, nationally and worldwide. We will use every available Christ-honoring means to pursue, win and disciple the people in our sphere of influence.
We value the Family!
We believe God ordained the family to glorify him. We are committed to cultivate an atmosphere which promotes spiritual growth within the family by reaching families with the gospel, discipling them in Christ-like character and teaching each family member how to fulfill their God-given role.
Meet Our Pastors
Our Leadership Team works together to shape the vision and provide Bible-based spirital direction for the church.
Earl Monroe
Senior Pastor
Earl received a calling from God to pastor a church many years ago, and has led several anabaptist churches in the Mennonite tradition over the years. With his wife, Joy by his side, today Earl is the lead pastor of Hope Filled Christian Church – a nondenominational church that still follows traditional anabaptist/Mennonite faith beliefs, but is true to God’s Word, the Bible. Hope Filled has not bowed to societal pressures to accept sin as an acceptable norm. Earl challenges us each Sunday and Wednesday night with a thoughtful message and encourages us to think crtitically and respond to what we have heard.
Brett Perrett
Pastor
Brett is passionate about exploring the truth and authority of God’s Word, the Bible, and helping us to apply those truths to our lives. Brett preaches once a month or more, and regularly meets individuals where they are in life to provide words of encouragement and answer questions about God and the Bible.
Brett retired from pastoring a local anabaptist congregation and along with his wife Arlene, joined Hope Filled when it was a house-church, assisting with teaching, preaching and outreach. Brett continues these roles today as a beloved leader in the church.

Our Story
Growing up in Augusta County near Stuarts Draft, I never imagined that I would be pastoring a church. My ambitions were in other areas. After working in public service for the City of Staunton, I became the Senior Pastor of a local church that I had attended in my childhood. Later, I pastored another local church for 21 years and as an interim pastor for another 2 years.
After that last assignment, my wife and I felt led to begin a house fellowship which grew to the point that we needed a larger place to meet. For a while we met in the offices of Big O Tree Services until moving to our current location in the Stuarts Draft VFW hall on US Rt 340 (Stuarts Draft Highway). God is good.
While my background is Anabaptist (Mennonite), we have chosen to remain an independent, non-denominational church. You can find our beliefs and Statement of Faith here on the website. It is my hope and prayer to see our fellowship grow.
If you have questions about our church, its leadership, or about God, please use our contact page and we will be happy to speak with you personally by phone, text, email or other means.
We are an accepting congregation where everyone is welcome – and where Biblical Truth is taught. We would be delighted to have you visit with us.
